Why Summer is the Secret Season for Long-Term Stays in Puerto Vallarta

When most people think of summer in Puerto Vallarta, they picture heat, humidity, and afternoon rain showers. But for savvy travelers, digital nomads, and extended-stay guests, summer is actually one of the best times to settle in — especially if you’re staying somewhere like 418 Basilio Badillo. Here’s why.

1. Lower Rates, Longer Stays

Summer is low season in Puerto Vallarta, which means significantly lower nightly rates — and even better discounts for weekly or monthly stays. At 418 Basilio Badillo, we love welcoming guests who want to linger, and we offer special pricing for longer bookings in our lofts and penthouse.

2. Fewer Crowds, More Authenticity

You won’t be jostling for beach chairs or waiting an hour for tacos. In summer, the city has a slower, more local rhythm. You’ll have a chance to connect with neighborhood spots and locals in a way that just isn’t possible during peak months.

3. Rooftop Breezes and A/C Make It Easy

Yes, it’s warm — but our air-conditioned units, rooftop infinity pool, and ocean breezes help keep you comfortable around the clock. Whether you’re cooling off with a rooftop swim or working from your loft, you’ll stay relaxed and refreshed.

4. The City Comes Alive with Color

Summer is rainy season, but most rain falls in quick, late-afternoon bursts. What follows? Lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and dramatic sunsets that make for incredible views (especially from our rooftop). PV is truly at its most beautiful.

5. Ideal for Remote Work and Creative Retreats

Need to write, design, or code in peace? Our lofts come with fast Wi-Fi (we ran fiber internet to the building and we have starlink as a backup), desks, and quiet corners for focus — plus the bonus of being just steps from cafes and restaurants when you need a break. It’s the perfect mix of productivity and paradise.

6. Extended Stay Amenities Make All the Difference

Each of our lofts and the penthouse include full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryers, and weekly cleaning services — so you can live comfortably and independently during your stay.

7. More Than a Vacation — It’s a Lifestyle

Spending summer in Puerto Vallarta isn’t just about escaping — it’s about arriving. Arriving into a rhythm that’s easygoing, delicious, and a little bit addictive. Book a month, and you may just wish you’d stayed for three.

Rooftop Sunsets and Ocean Breezes: A Perfect Evening at 418 Basilio Badillo

There’s something magical about ending your day in Puerto Vallarta with a rooftop sunset — especially when you’re staying at 418 Basilio Badillo. Whether you’re sipping a cocktail, swimming in the infinity pool, or just soaking up the views, here’s how to enjoy the perfect evening on our rooftop.

Start With a Swim

Our infinity pool is perched high above the Romantic Zone — with panoramic views of the city’s terracotta rooftops, palm trees, and the Pacific beyond. An early evening dip is the best way to cool off after a day at the beach or exploring the town.

Sip and Snack With a View

Bring up your favorite cocktail or chilled drink (our lofts and penthouse have full kitchens and wine glasses ready), and settle in for golden hour. We recommend pairing a cold michelada or glass of rosé with some fresh ceviche or guacamole from the local market downstairs.

Watch the Sky Light Up

As the sun begins to set over the ocean, you’ll see the sky transform into shades of pink, orange, and deep purple. It’s one of those sunsets you’ll want to photograph — or just sit back and enjoy in stillness.

We are always updating our spaces and currently are remodeling the rooftop.

Feel the Breeze and the Quiet

Even on warm evenings, the rooftop catches a gentle ocean breeze that keeps things perfectly comfortable. The surrounding neighborhood hums softly below, but up here, it’s peaceful and private.

Bring Your Playlist (or a Friend’s Laugh)

Whether you want a quiet moment to reflect or a lively laugh with friends, the rooftop is your space. There’s room to stretch out, play music (at a respectful volume), or even catch up on a good book by candlelight.

Finish With a Starry Sky

As darkness falls, the sky over Puerto Vallarta reveals a blanket of stars. You might even catch fireworks from the beach or celebrations in the distance. It’s the perfect final note to a day in paradise.

This is Why Our Guests Keep Coming Back
Our rooftop is more than a photo op — it’s a feeling. It’s where travelers become locals, where solo moments become memories, and where every sunset feels like it was painted just for you.

Everything You Need to Know Before Visiting Puerto Vallarta in the Summer

If you're planning a trip to Puerto Vallarta during the summer months, you're in for a different — and unexpectedly rewarding — kind of experience. Yes, it's warmer and more humid, but it’s also quieter, more local, and often more affordable. Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

1. Summer Is Low Season — and That’s a Good Thing

From June through September, Puerto Vallarta sees fewer tourists. That means more space on the beach, shorter wait times at restaurants, and better deals on stays — including discounted rates at boutique rentals like ours at 418 Basilio Badillo.

2. Yes, It’s Hot and Humid

Summer temperatures average around 90°F (32°C), with high humidity. But nearly every business — including our air-conditioned lofts and suites — is built to keep you cool. Plus, rooftop pools (like ours) feel especially glorious this time of year.

3. Afternoon Showers Bring the Jungle to Life

Don’t let the word “rainy season” scare you. Rain usually comes as brief, refreshing late afternoon or nighttime storms. The result? A lush, green backdrop that makes every photo pop.

4. Summer Is Great for Longer Stays

Remote workers and digital nomads love summer in PV — not just for the slower pace, but for the savings. We often host long-term guests looking to soak in the local vibe while staying productive (thanks to fast Wi-Fi and in-unit laundry).

5. The Ocean Is Warmer and Quieter

The sea warms up in summer, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. And with fewer crowds, it’s easier to find peaceful stretches of beach even at popular spots like Playa Los Muertos.

6. Pack Light, But Smart

Think breathable fabrics, swimsuits, sunblock, and a hat. Bring a light rain jacket or umbrella for those occasional showers. You’ll spend most of your time in sandals and swimwear anyway.

7. Local Life Shines

With fewer tourists, you’ll get a more authentic experience. Spend your afternoons in shaded cafes, watch evening thunderstorms from the rooftop, or take a slow walk along the Malecón without the crowds.

Final Tip: Book a Place Designed for Summer
Choose accommodations that help you beat the heat — like our rooftop infinity pool, air-conditioned interiors, and breezy balconies. Whether you stay in one of our lofts, the penthouse, or a cozy suite, summer in PV can be your chillest trip yet.
